My birthday is in 3 days and I will be 43 years old.

People always ask me, “What are you going to do for your birthday.” When I was younger I will tell them exactly everything. As I got older I told them a summary and now I simply say, “I am focused on being ___, than turning ___.”

Why do I feel this way, because I know a lot of people that make a big deal out of their birthday, some celebrate for a week I have a couple of friends and family members that celebrate for the entire month. Then they spend the rest of the year existing.

I want to spend my year becoming better. I want to look back at my life and say, “Yes it was good, and I am on empty.”

My final thoughts…

As you next birthday comes up I am not suggesting that you don’t celebrate. I am challenging you to do more, make a choice and determine what you want the next year to be about. Get out of your comfort zone and take more risks, set higher goals, do things you thought you would never do. I am saying instead of turning ___, live everyday as if it were your birthday!
